Managing Strategic Transformations

In-person | 18 – 26 June 2022

Change as a constant has never been more real than with digital transformations. Digital transformation is a hot topic–but what exactly is it, and what does it mean for 21st-century leaders?

This course discusses the exponential rate at which technology changes and creates an imperative for organizations to deconstruct their value chain to gain a competitive advantage.

This course will explore how four technologies—elastic cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things—are fundamentally changing how business and government will operate. While this profound and fast-moving transformation happens, today’s leaders should learn how to use change frameworks to survive and thrive in the new digital landscape.

This course will explore emerging trends and technologies and possible future by covering vital external drivers of digital transformation.

In this course, we will also cover approaches for change frameworks, planning and managing strategic transformations in the total enterprise, including leadership, processes, structures, and culture; exploring how forms of organizing change are linked to various competitive strategies and performance; and building skills for designing, implementing, and managing strategic transformations.

This is a not-for-credit course. E-certificates of Completion will be issued to participants upon the satisfactory completion of the course.

By the end of this course, students will be able to learn:

  • How to lead in times of change and uncertainty.
  • Critical skills to navigate digital disruption.
  • How to analyze big data in new ways to make better decisions.
  • How to manage the organizational transformations, in the form of people and processes, required to enable measurable and significant change.
  • How to build teams that will excel in a digital culture that brings together new technologies and processes.
  • How technology changes 21-century businesses.
  • How to apply artificial intelligence (AI) tools and approaches to serve your customers and employees successfully.
  • Organizational change processes in leading and managing strategic transformations.
  • How to apply systems leadership techniques to solve challenges faced while implementing digital transformation.
  • How large companies are successfully navigating the changes brought about by a new, digitally centric landscape.
  • Navigating the legal and ethical considerations surrounding digital business practices, such as privacy and data protection.
  • How to evaluate the effectiveness and readiness of organizational change projects
